Hi all, Llyrenn had put together the classbalance nicely on the other thread. Now, should we try making a test run in say... Zul'Gurub? And how does Thursday evening sound for a date if we get enough people?
It would be the first step in the raid action, even if we don't manage to down a single boss.
Discuss.

A raid?

Hell yes! I've been waiting for someone else to say this so it didn't seem like i was banging on all the time!
Thursday is good for me. As long as it doesn't start before about 1915 server time (i get home from work at about 1900 every day). I've been there 4 times so far and have seen how the ashen order deals with the first four bosses. Here's what i've seen:
#1 Venoxis, the snake boss.
This is an easy fight (compared to the rest!) and as long as we have enough healing on the main tank and some crowd control and a good second tank for the adds, and all round dps of course, we shouldn't have much trouble.
#2 Jeklik, batt bitch.
This is the second easiest fight but still quite a tricky one. The key is to have all the ranged dps and healers in one tight spot, while the melee and tank fight jeklik nearby. Every now and then a wave of bats charge in. These need to be aoe'd fast. They almost always charge the healers which is why the mages and other ranged need to be all together. In the second phase everyone needs to run around like scared chickens whilst still dpsing and healing. This is to avoid the bombs that some flying bat rider drops. He can't be killed and often when we kill this boss only half of the raid is left standing. The bombs do loads of fire damage so unless you get out of it quickly if you are hit, you will die.
#3 Snake boss Mar'li or Bloodlord Mandokir These guys are hard, especially the spider. She needs a lot of concentration to beat and it often takes a few failed attempts for the Ashen Order to beat her. Mandokir is easier but again needs everyone totally focused and on this fight healing has to be perfect.
If we get the first two down i think we can be pretty damn happy for a first try.
edit: LOOT
I just thought we might as well decide how our loot system is going to work. Here is a suggestion:
For items, such as rings/armour/weapons: If your class can use it you can roll, but if it is more useful for another class this roll can be overulled (for example there is a ring set there that has int, mp5 and %chance to hit with spells. Kinda useful for a healer but obviously aimed at dps casters. healers have their own set with more appropriate stats so if this dropped it would go to a dps caster before a healer).
If you win an item, then preference on later items will go to those who have not won yet.
I suggest this is different for epics and superior items. e.g. if you just won a blue ring, and a purple staff dropped you still get to roll. But if you just won a blue ring and a blue mace drops you don't.
Armour quest pieces such as Primal Hakkari Aegis I suggest these are separate from equippable drops. The same rule applies though, if you can use it you can roll, if you win one you can't roll for another for the rest of the run unless noone else wants it.
Punctured Voodoo Dolls these are class specific and drop from piles found throughout the instance. The master looter will loot the pile (if they become mindcontrolled just sheep them till it wears off) then the appropriate class rolls for it. If you already have won one on the same run or in the past then the rest of your class gets priorty. This is used with the Primal Hakkari Idol to get a special enchant so if you are lucky enough to get both items i suggest saving the enchant till you have an armour piece you think you will keep for a long time.
Primal Hakkari Idol Drops from Jin'Do and Bloodlord so we won't see one yet, but when we do everyone rolls who hasn't already got one.
Bijous and Coins Honestly i don't have any idea how to cope with these. They're used in various quests to increase rep and drop off any mobs in there. Ashen Order does it so that the ML gets them all and sends them to the guild bank. I don't know what they do with them after that, but will ask Anshe on Alaster if i get the chance.
There you go, thats how i suggest it works. Wat do you think?

Well let's get as many as we can get. If we can't manage the raid i'm sure there is something else we can do together. Or we could try and fill up our numbers with any friends who are online, and then the lfg channel! As long as we are on ML we won't get any ninja's and it'd be good to get there anyway. We also have friday and saturday to return to the instance before it resets if one of those days is better for attendance.

Sign me up for it. The worst case scenario would be doing some other instance together, which would be great anyway. Would like to do more instances with you people, and get to know you better... Thunder Bluff is far away from the Undercity.

It aint that far from orgrimmar. You could always visit me in my little home next to the city gates. I don't have any furniture yet, but a lovely view of the city's rooftops and main square.

Alright, the raid was not a mayor success as we had only a one shot on the batboss before people started leaving If we could get more of our members it might get better, but as we had to invite so many others, i think some of them might have not known they're with a beginner group and things will take time. The raid went smoothly enough until the though, IMO. Some people died on the exploding bats but I guess that might even be normal, got on 4,5k blast muysefl. One thing that surprised me was how close that boss was, there weren't many mobs before him to kill. All in all, let's do bettre next time

not a very good run, but at least we managed to get 20 people in there at the same time.
We can only do better next time.

Ah, it wasn't that bad. We defeated one boss atleast. And don't forget we came here to 'explore'. Next time...more bloodpact-members!

We didn't defeat a boss, but yeah it didn't go that badly for a first run. Next time it would be good to get more mages and druids as their cc is really useful. And yes dieing at the exploding bats is normal. If noone dies it's a bloody good sign!

I apologise for my absense! I had no idea we were even nearly ready. I was, of course, on holiday. I'll certainly come to our next run...

Llyrenn, the Master Looter acquire all Bijous and Coins and sends them to the special bank account set up for that purpose. Coins are used for acquiring items from the Zandalar tribe and can be requested from our bank, but prime use for the Bijous themselves are for reputation. As such we use our store of Bijous to reward attendance at our Roleplay events. Hope this answers your question.

Yes it does, thank you. I'd actually already asked Anshe this and learnt the answers, but thanks all the same. I am always eager to learn more about this exciting and challenging temple. If only the trolls there were slightly less hostile, I would love to go and ask Hakkar a few things!
